What is ko-fi Early Access, you ask yourself now? I rush to explain.

Since the initial idea of Cross-Stitch Vienna in December 2020 and the dream becoming true on the 5th of January, 2021, my wish for CSV was that it provides quirky modern patterns to everyone free of charge. This month Cross-Stitch Vienna reached 1000 downloads and I am finally starting to see lovely people sharing their creations based my patterns online.

You can imagine (perhaps you have been here yourself before?) what it means to a creator to see someone appreciating their work. Especially when sometimes the Internet feels like a deep well that we all shout into and do not get any response. I suspect I do not see a lot of things that happen with my work because the Internet is vast and the culture of crediting authors is somehow diminishing – this makes any direct feedback ten times better.

Somewhere along the way I had an idea of adding ko-fi to CSV to at least cover the cost of running it and also to see if it would work. Shockingly, some people did tip me! I won’t lie that it feels extra special when someone buys you coffee in return – I feel seen, if that makes sense. And I like the concept of paying back in caffeine GREAT AGAIN.

I have created one thank you gift for my ko-fi givers but it felt not enough. It takes a special person to take the time to go over to ko-fi, clickety click the buttons, chip in. The intention of giving back and taking action to fulfil it deserves appreciation.

This is where ko-fi Early Access comes in.

ko-fi Early Access means that selected patterns will be placed in a secret cross-stitch patterns stash, which is accessible to everyone, who have previously tipped me on ko-fi. The patterns will remain in the stash for some time and then will be released to all CSV followers.

Nohing will change about my attitude towards free patterns – I will continue to provide them with joy 🙂 Even if you continue downloading the free patterns from CSV till the end of time without as much as a nod, I am still going to be happy.

But if you want to support CSV and get access to all of my patterns as soon as they go live as a reward, click on the button below and enter the secret stash.

Besos!

Skeleton Family – Free Counted Cross-Stitch Pattern

👁 SKELETON FAMILY 👁 💀 This gothic cross-stitch pattern is inspired by my recent obsession with ornate antique photos of American families that I came across on Flickr. The colour choice in this chart emulates saturated sepia profile of daguerreotypes. PLEASE NOTE THIS PATTERN IS A KO-FI EARLY ACCESS ONLY UNTIL 04.01.2022 🙂 What does…

Cross-Stitch Vienna is a passion project created by an individual, who really needed a crafts project to escape the turmoil of 2020. It was established on the 5th of January, 2021, and continues to provide free counted cross-stitch patterns for those, who need a creative and offline distraction. CSV is based in Vienna, Austria, which inspired the name of the website.
